The Parts managers is responsible for managing inventory based on demand and cost targets. They must be able to maintain stock at a level that enables servicing and repair departments to complete their work without delay.
Responsibilities:
Research pricing and availability to purchase parts from contract vendors
Maintain a complete inventory of parts and supplies to support a fast place maintenance shop
Create purchase orders for purchases, receive parts, prepare paper work to be forwarded off to accounting department for payment in a timely fashion
Work directly with Accounting to ensure accuracy and timeliness of parts, purchase orders, and invoicing
Issues parts and documents use
Builds and maintains relationships with vendors
Conducts monthly parts audits
Supervises the work of the parts clerk
Maintains a clean and safe environment
Qualifications:
Previous mechanical experience a plus
Working knowledge of parts
Ability to maintain proper parts inventory levels
Ability to utilize computers for inventory, record keeping, parts information, etc.
Must have strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license required
Skills and Knowledge required:
Strong written and oral communication skills
Must be able to forecast
Ability to identify and locate parts and supplies
Basic computer skills
Must be able to work under pressure
Ability to work in a team environment
Physical requirements:
Occasionally required to lift up to 75 pounds
Must be able to work in a shop environment
